EARLY SYMPTOMS OF PREGNANCY

Hi everyone! How was your weekend?
Today we will be going through the early signs of pregnancy, I have never been pregnant though (lol) I hope I have the right to write this post. i have been around many pregnant women a lot and as a biochemist by B.SC I believe I have entitled to write this post.

Let’s talk about pregnancy
In this post, am going to be as simple and unprofessional as I can be, this is for better understanding.
Definition of pregnancy in case you need it for an exam (lol)
The term pregnancy refers to a period when a woman have an unprotected sex and there happens to be fertilization of the egg, followed by implantation till the time she actually delivers the baby (in my own lay man expression .I don’t guarantee an A with this definition in an exam o).
Some married women face some challenges determining whether they are pregnant or not
, even singles.
The best way to know is by carrying out a pregnancy test, though when you are pregnant your body and your mind always (in most cases) know you are pregnant.

Here are the few common symptoms of pregnancy
1.      Breast tenderness: most of the pregnant women I have been with told me that one of their first symptom was sour and tender breast, it can be fuller at times. This is medically due to the fact that the body is producing some hormones that makes the breast fuller and tender
2.      Urinating constantly: this is also an important symptom of pregnancy, it is completely harmless and does not mean you should reduce you fluid intake. Some other factors can be responsible for urinating constantly, might be an infection.
3.      Finding some foods distasteful: this symptoms is annoying to some people but it do happen during pregnancy, your favourite drink can just taste flat and your throw up when you site your favourite meal. Some medical practitioners have claimed that this symptoms is a natural way of the body to protect the baby, some free radical and nitrates that are harmful to the baby sometimes disgust pregnant women.

4.      NAUSEA/VOMIT: If you are a fan of Yoruba movies you will notice their way of telling us someone is pregnant is showing her vomiting on a previous scene(I love Nigeria). This is actually true ,some people actually vomit when they are pregnant or feel like they want to.

5.      MISSED PERIOD: This symptom is the most efficient so far, but it takes sometimes to notice because you actually have to wait for your period to determine whether you are pregnant.
6.      Cramps, backache and headache: some people actually get this symptoms prior to implantation but as you know, many things can be responsible for backache, headache and cramps, so it is not too reliable.

The best way to determine whether you are pregnant or not is by going to the hospital and let them run a test but some have tried so many times and are tired of going to the clinic to hear it is negative, I have decided to write this post to help them and many others, I hope it is helpful. Have a wonderful week.
